What do I know!
So, United did it... well, hung on. Arsenal gave them more of a game than on the previous two encounters but the tedium that is United dominating the Premiership continues.
At the other end of the table... we here at Pink Whisper knew it wouldn't be an easy task for Newcastle United. Owen out, Duff at left back. Hold on, Duff at left-back? What's that all about? No wonder they're in trouble. Anyway, Fulham got the points and are looking pretty good. This time last year they pipped dear old Reading FC on the final day of the season to stay in the Premier League and Roy Hodgson, a Maidstone United old boy, is looking like the great manager we all knew he was.
If only he or Coppell had been given the England job in the recent past. Both would easily show McLaren a thing or two. What a debacle that was! My reaction to the former Manchester United coach getting the top job in English football was similar to my reaction when Don Revie got the job in the seventies; despair!
And Hull City got a point. Grrrr. For Phil Browns general attitude and general demeanor alone they deserve to face the drop rather than Gareth Southgate and Middlesbrough. One man full of integrity and humility, the other slags off his own players after the game on the radio or telly!
No 6-0-6? Its rugby now on 5-Live. Yes, rugby, the game where the ball isn't really a ball... I mean, its not round! All those books that we use to teach children the alphabet show B is for ball and the ball is ALWAYS round!
Mind you, at least its not like American Football... the ball doesn't seem to get kicked very much in that game.
See you soon.
